"Regenerative Development is the art of evolving living systems through the weaving of local patterns in place"
Michael McElligott, CEO, Veridian Developments

Veridian Developments

Regenerative development is an approach to planning, design and management that positions every project as a living participant in its place. Its goal is not simply to lessen harm or “be sustainable,” but to grow the health, resilience and evolutionary potential of the social-ecological systems in which people work and live.

Veridian is a regenerative development company dedicated to the evolution of this field of conscious civilisation development

Veridian regeneratively co-designs property development projects, investment opportunities, and unique governance structures with local communities across Australia, and internationally

Take Action

“What would you like to see in your region?”

Every tree planted, creek restored, and local effort helps regenerate the land we call home. It’s a community coming together to care for Country. By acting together, we grow more than landscapes—we grow resilience, connection, and pride. Let’s co-create a thriving Urunga, grounded in care and led by us all.

The Narrative Arc: “Where Mountain Mist Meets Salt Wind”

Water begins its journey in Dorrigo’s ancient cloud forests, tumbling through rainforest roots before arriving at Urunga—where the rivers pause, spread, and breathe before entering the sea.
This has always been a place of rest and renewal. The Gumbaynggirr have listened here for millennia. Settlers arrived by timber boat and train. The land was wounded through the Antimony-tailings disaster—but then healed. Together, we transformed a toxic swamp into a learning sanctuary.
Now, Urunga stands ready to lead—not as a monument to the past, but as a living example of what regeneration looks like when a community chooses to care, co-create, and carry Country forward.

Urunga Pre-Story of Place Research
  • Core Process: Rhythmic Confluence—a rhythmic meeting of waters, cultures, and life.
  • Core Purpose: To serve as a Living Estuary Gateway—connecting mountain rainforests, river life, and saltwater Country
  • Core Value: Healing through meeting—each encounter, whether between tide, traveller, or turtle, leaves Urunga more alive.
  • Vocation: Conscious Transmuter—To show Australia how small coastal towns can regenerate damaged wetlands, protect endangered species, and build a regenerative economy led by elders, youth, and care for Country.
